Chimera Land Firmware Release Notes 1.124

Firmware Version: 1.124 General Release

Target Hardware: Chimera Land

Hardware Versions Supported: 0.5, 1.0

Release Date: 2026-10-12

Scope: Changes since v1.110

Highlights

  • Remember Alignment Settings before FW Update: Existing alignment settings are not retained when updating to this firmware release. Before updating, you should record the values shown in Settings > Alignment Settings, and re-enter them after the update. Alternatively, run Settings > Device Alignment after the update.
  • Ethernet only connection: This firmware release supports connecting Chimera to an INS via ethernet, but doesn't support connecting to an INS via a Serial connection. Serial connection will return in a future firmware release.
  • Configuration Validation: Device settings are now validated, preventing invalid settings from impacting device performance.
  • Auto Alignment: Improved auto alignment accuracy and reliability. Auto alignment now supports installations where the optical head is mounted at 180 degrees to the INS.
  • INS Offsets: Auto alignment now applies installation offsets configured on the INS using the Aiding Source Configuration packet instead of the Installation Alignment packet. INS firmware that only provides the Installation Alignment packet remains compatible. (relates to ANPP packets 185, 207)

New Features and Improvements

User Interface

  • Auto Alignment Messages: Improved auto alignment error reporting. Each case now shows a descriptive message and a suggested corrective action.

Sensors and Aiding Sources

  • Telescope Fault Detection: Improved detection and exclusion of a faulty Doppler measurement from a single telescope. Valid measurements are now retained during highly dynamic maneuvers, and reported velocity uncertainty increases when only three of the four telescopes are in use.

Bug Fixes

User Interface

  • Offline Settings Page: Resolved an issue where the Settings page could become unresponsive when the device has no internet connection.
  • Firmware Update: Resolved an issue where a lost connection to device message could appear after a firmware update.
  • Web Interface Stability: Increased stability of the web interface when the connection is under heavy load or is interrupted unexpectedly.

Logging

  • On-Device Logging: Reduced processor and storage use of the logging system.

Known Issues

  • "Auto-alignment" only supported with D-series INS: The Chimera auto-alignment functionality is not supported on the Boreas A70, Boreas A90, or Certus Mini A.

Firmware Update
