Hydrus Device Addresses

It is possible to track as many targets as required from a single surface Subsonus unit (which comes at a compromise of interrogation frequency per device). Every Hydrus being operated within a 3km radius must have a unique address otherwise communication collisions will occur. If only one Hydrus is to be tracked, this section can be disregarded as the factory default unit addresses will work out of the box.

For information on how to assign a device address, see Device Address Configuration in the Subsonus Reference Manual.

Device Address Identification

To determine the Subsonus device address, the unit must be powered and connected to the Subsonus web UI.

  1. Open the local Subsonus web interface

  2. Navigate to “Configuration”→”Devices”

  3. The number next to the device is the device address. For example, the following Subsonus has a device address of 1:

If there are any other devices configured to be tracked by the surface Subsonus, these devices will also appear on this page, with their respective device addresses.
