Out of Water Detection

By default, Subsonus automatically detects when it is out of water and enters low power mode. This is indicated by an alert in the status summary in the Web UI main view. See Main View for more information on the status summary.

All system functions remain fully operational out of the water, however the unit needs to be submerged in order to enable acoustic communications and for tracking to work. When the system is returned to water it will automatically switch back to full power mode within 20 seconds.

The Subsonus should be kept cool whenever it is out of the water and powered on, especially for extended periods of time. In the event that Subsonus is subjected to temperatures beyond its operating limits, it will safely shut down to protect itself. In case of an over-temperature shutdown event, the power must be cycled to restart operation once the unit has cooled down.

Note: To change the default behaviour of entering low power mode when out of water, navigate to ConfigurationSystem and check or uncheck the Enable low power mode when out of water check-box. Depending on how Subsonus has been configured, this may or may not require you to be logged in.
