External Aiding Devices

External aiding devices can be connected to the Subsonus system via Ethernet. The data can then be shared from the subsea unit to the surface via either Ethernet or acoustic signals, see Subsonus Data Sharing for more information.

Doppler Velocity Input

A Doppler velocity input such as a DVL can be added to the Subsonus system. Additional velocity data provided by the DVL significantly improves dead reckoning.

Once configured, the DVL data is logged automatically, and the DVL beams and reflection points can be seen in the web UI Main view, see Navigation Visualisation.

Advanced Navigation has made configuring a Nortek or Waterlinked DVL simple and streamlined, see Device Configuration.
